Air fryer pork chops are quick and simple to prepare, producing juicy tender meat with a crispy outside. This easy recipe is perfect for busy nights and delivers flavors your family will enjoy every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pork chops bone-in approx 2½cm or 1-inch thick Note 1
  • 1 tablespoon or 15 ml olive oil optional Note 2
  • 2 teaspoons paprika sweet smoked or hot
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Heat your air fryer to 400°F or 200°C before starting.
  2. Dry the pork chops with a towel, then if thick rind is present, slice it carefully at 1 inch or 2cm intervals.
  3. In a small bowl, combine paprika, brown sugar, salt, thyme, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to make the seasoning rub.
  4. Put the pork chops in a bowl or plate, drizzle olive oil over them if using, then coat fully with the seasoning mixture.
  5. Arrange the pork chops in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  6. Cook the pork chops in the air fryer for 12 to 15 minutes, turning them over after 7 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F or 63°C.

Notes

  • Cook times vary by chop thickness and air fryer strength
  • Oil is optional but helps caramelize the meat
  • A pre-made seasoning rub can be used instead, about one tablespoon per chop
  • Use a digital instant-read thermometer to check doneness
