  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional seasonings garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, pepper, and optional seasonings.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  6. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove casserole from oven and sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top.
  9. Return to oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
