- 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard optional
- fresh thyme leaves for garnish
- 2 lbs potatoes peeled and cubed
- ½ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup butter
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Peel and devein the shrimp then toss with olive oil paprika garlic powder salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook shrimp until pink and cooked through about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet melt butter then add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant about 1 minute.
- Stir in heavy cream Parmesan cheese and Dijon mustard and simmer until thickened about 3-5 minutes.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and coat with the creamy sauce.
- Meanwhile boil potatoes in salted water until tender about 15 minutes then drain.
- Mash potatoes with warm milk butter and salt until smooth and creamy.
- Serve shrimp and creamy garlic sauce over mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
Notes
- Ensure not to overcook the shrimp for tender juicy results
- You can substitute Dijon mustard with a pinch of cayenne pepper for added heat
