  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced or pureed
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or white wine
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes for heat optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  1. Mix shrimp with paprika salt and black pepper until fully coated.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat then cook shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes flipping halfway until done and set aside.
  3. Lower heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for about one minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth or white wine then simmer 2 to 3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Stir in heavy cream then add Parmesan cheese Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes.
  7. Let sauce simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until it thickens.
  8. Return shrimp to skillet and coat with sauce then cook gently for 2 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with pasta rice or crusty bread.
