  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt (I use Morton table salt for this because it’s fine and better for coating)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts – if you have closer to 1.5 pounds in your package increase the amount of spices above by 1.5x to make sure you have enough seasoning for your chicken

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts into thin, flat pieces and pat dry if needed.
  2. Mix all the spices together and sprinkle evenly over the chicken in a bowl. Add the avocado oil and toss to coat thoroughly.
  3. Preheat your air fryer and arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer with some space between them.
  4. Cook at 415 degrees for 10 minutes or up to 13 minutes for larger pieces until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
  5. Allow the chicken to rest briefly before slicing and serving. Enjoy while hot, optionally with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Salt Depends on The Amount of Chicken: Use 3/4 teaspoon table salt for 1 pound chicken breasts and 1 teaspoon for 1
  • 5 pounds
  • For coarse kosher salt, use 1 teaspoon per pound
  • Marinate spices up to 24 hours but add cornstarch just before air frying
  • Paprika refers to ground paprika
  • a small amount of smoked paprika adds flavor without overwhelming
  • Alternatively, use 1 tablespoon McCormick Rotisserie Chicken Seasoning instead of paprika, salt, onion and garlic powders plus cornstarch and brown sugar for a shortcut
  • Serve with an amazing Gochujang Dipping Sauce made from mayo, gochujang table sauce, grated garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, salt, and pepper
