Crock Pot Mississippi Chicken is a flavorful, simple chicken recipe perfect for easy dinners or weeknight meals. This slow cooker chicken dish brings a family dinner to your table with minimal effort and great taste.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter
  • 6 peperoncini peppers

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Evenly sprinkle the au jus gravy mix and ranch dressing mix over the chicken.
  3. Add the stick of salted butter on top, then arrange the peperoncini peppers over everything.
  4. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, allowing the chicken to cook in its own juices.
  5. Once fully cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and serve.

  • Chicken thighs can be a very affordable option
  • If I use chicken thighs then I’ll usually cut the butter in half just because there is more fat in chicken thighs
