Crock Pot Sweet and Sour Meatballs offer a delicious and easy dinner perfect for weeknight meals. This family-friendly slow cooker meatballs recipe is a sweet and sour recipe that requires minimal effort and satisfies everyone.

Ingredients

  • 28 ounce bag frozen meatballs
  • 20 ounce can pineapple chunks in 100% juice save juice
  • 1 green pepper diced into chunks
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Pour the pineapple juice from the can into a medium bowl for later use.
  2. Place the frozen meatballs inside a 4-6 quart crock pot.
  3. Spread the pineapple chunks and diced green peppers over the meatballs.
  4. Add brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and cornstarch to the pineapple juice and whisk well to create the sauce.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the meatballs and cover the crock pot.
  6. Cook on low heat for 2 hours.
  7. Switch the crock pot to high heat and continue cooking for 1 more hour to thicken the sauce and create bubbling edges.

Notes

  • The meatballs do not need to be thawed first
  • They go in frozen
  • Don’t like peppers? Just leave them out! Frozen meatball packages vary in size
  • this recipe suits most standard sizes except family size
  • If you don’t get a full cup of pineapple juice, add a bit of water to make up the difference
  • Serve with rice for a main meal or toothpicks for an appetizer
