  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅔ cup honey clear and not creamed
  • ¼ cup low sodium chicken broth or sub water
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional but balances out the sweetness nicely

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Whisk together the sauce ingredients honey broth soy sauce garlic vinegar salt cornstarch and pepper flakes if using.
  3. Pour sauce over chicken breasts and cover.
  4. Cook on low for 3-4 hours or until the thickest part of the chicken registers a temperature of 165 degrees F.
