1 cup mushrooms sliced Use fresh mushrooms for the best flavor
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded Try different cheeses like Gruyère or Parmesan for a unique twist
1 loaf bread of choice e.g. baguette or sourdough
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Add sliced mushrooms, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until mushrooms are tender.
Arrange slices of bread on a baking sheet.
Spoon the mushroom mixture onto each slice, topped with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve warm.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator
They are best eaten fresh, but you can reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to make them crispy again
