Ingredients
pasta: 1 pound of linguine or fettuccine pasta dried
shrimp: 1 pound of large shrimp peeled and deveined
butter: ½ cup unsalted butter
garlic: 6-8 cloves minced
chicken broth: 4 cups low-sodium
heavy cream: ½ cup
white wine: ½ cup dry white wine optional
lemon juice: 2 tablespoons fresh
red pepper flakes: ¼ teaspoon optional
fresh parsley: ¼ cup chopped
parmesan cheese: ½ cup grated plus extra
salt and black pepper: to taste
olive oil: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
Heat olive oil and butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, then remove and set aside.
Pour chicken broth and white wine into the pot and bring to a simmer.
Add pasta and cook until al dente, stirring occasionally.
Stir in heavy cream, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese.
Return shrimp to the pot and mix well.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Use fresh shrimp for best flavor
Adjust red pepper flakes according to desired spice level
Parmesan cheese can be substituted with Pecorino Romano
