Description

This peach pie recipe is sweet, juicy, and easy to make with fresh peaches and a flaky homemade crust. Perfect for dessert or any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) package pie crust 9 inch double crust pie or homemade pie crust
  • 1 egg white beaten
  • 5 cups sliced peeled peaches
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar in the raw for crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust by lining a 9-inch pie plate with one crust.
  3. In a large bowl, mix peaches, lime juice, cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour peach mixture into the crust-lined pie plate.
  5. Dot the filling with butter.
  6. Cover with second crust and seal edges.
  7. Brush top crust with beaten egg white and sprinkle sugar in the raw on top.
  8. Cut slits in the top crust to vent.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling bubbles.
  10. Cool before serving.

  • Use fresh ripe peaches for best flavor
  • Double crust pie allows for a flaky top and bottom
