This protein sourdough bread combines traditional fermentation with added protein, delivering a nutritious and delicious loaf perfect for health-conscious bread lovers.

Ingredients

  • 500 g Bread Flour
  • 350 g Water (can increase by 20 to 30g if you wish)
  • 100 g Sourdough Starter
  • 10 g Salt
  • 150 g High Protein Nut & Seed Mix

Instructions

  1. Mix bread flour salt and sourdough starter in a large bowl.
  2. Add water gradually and mix until dough forms.
  3. Incorporate the high protein nut and seed mix thoroughly.
  4. Let the dough rest and ferment for 4 to 6 hours.
  5. Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a proofing basket.
  6. Proof for 2 hours or until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat oven to 230°C and bake the bread for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the bread cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For extra protein variety add chia or flax seeds
  • Adjust water as needed depending on flour absorption
  • Store bread in a cool dry place
