A fluffy and tangy sourdough French toast recipe that’s irresistibly delicious, perfect for a comforting breakfast or brunch on any weekend.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk dairy free works as well
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sugar optional
  • 12 slices sourdough bread sliced ½ inch thick
  • butter for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar.
  2. Dip each sourdough slice into the mixture, soaking both sides.
  3. Heat a buttered skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook each slice until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve warm with maple syrup or toppings of choice.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale sourdough bread for better absorption
  • For a dairy-free option, substitute milk with almond or oat milk
