A soft and flavorful sourdough bread recipe that combines natural fermentation with a hint of sweetness for perfect homemade loaves.

Ingredients

  • 500g bread flour
  • 350ml water room temperature
  • 100g active sourdough starter
  • 10g salt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Mix bread flour water and sourdough starter until combined.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Add salt honey sugar and lemon juice; knead until smooth.
  4. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size about 4 hours.
  5. Shape the dough into loaves and proof for another 2 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 230°C bake the loaves for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  • For best results use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements and maintain room temperature water for optimal fermentation
