A cozy and sweet vanilla cinnamon milk tea that is easy to prepare and perfect for a comforting beverage any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 cups Milk dairy or plant-based
  • 4 Cinnamon sticks or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 Vanilla beans split and scraped or 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 Star anises optional
  • 4 tsp Loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags optional
  • Honey or other sweetener of choice sugar or a sugar substitute

Instructions

  1. Bring water and cinnamon sticks to a boil.
  2. Add vanilla beans and star anise if using, simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add tea leaves or bags and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Remove solids and stir in milk and sweetener.
  5. Heat gently until warm and serve.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness and milk type to your preference
  • Star anise is optional but adds a wonderful aroma
