Making a smoothie from scratch

banana apple and oats smoothie for weight loss

Description

Making this smoothie is so simple, you could probably do it half-asleep (and let’s be honest, some of us do). But to make it foolproof and totally fail-free, here’s your quick guide.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe banana (fresh or frozen – frozen = ice cream vibes)
  • 1 small apple (chopped, skin on or off — your call)
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats (uncooked)
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, cow’s — go wild)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional, but delightful)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (totally optional – banana might be sweet enough!)
  • Handful of ice cubes (for that frosty finish)

🎯 Optional add-ins: 1 tbsp Greek yogurt, 1 tbsp nut butter, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 tsp flax or chia seeds.

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients Peel that banana, chop the apple (no need to be fancy), and toss everything into your blender.
  2. Blend Start on low, then ramp it up to high speed until smooth and creamy. About 30–45 seconds should do the trick.
  3. Taste Test Need it sweeter? Add a splash of honey. Too thick? A bit more milk. Not cold enough? Toss in more ice.
  4. Pour & Sip Grab your cutest glass, pour it in, and maybe even sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for the ‘Gram. You fancy.

Notes

  • Too thick? Add a splash of milk or water. Go slow — you can’t un-thin a smoothie.
  • Too runny? Add more oats or a handful of frozen banana chunks.
  • Too bland? Check your fruit ripeness — underripe fruit = meh smoothie. Add cinnamon, nut butter, or vanilla extract to fix the flavor.
