  • 1 ¼ cup butter 280 grams
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar 150 grams
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 200 grams
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 ¾ cups of flour 357 grams measured correctly
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 22 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips 360-480 grams

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, mix the browned butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, and beat until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, whisk flour, salt, and baking soda.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Scoop dough onto baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  11. Let cookies cool on sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
