  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups chopped cabbage
  • 15 ounces canned diced tomatoes
  • 8 ounces canned tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar
  • Minced parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and begin cooking the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns.
  2. When the beef is halfway done, stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic and continue cooking until the meat is fully cooked.
  3. Add chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, and salt to the pan, mixing everything well. Cover the skillet and let it cook for 15 minutes, or until the cabbage softens as you prefer.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, and allow it to sit for 5 minutes so the cheese melts.
  5. Finish by garnishing with minced parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You may swap the cheddar for mozzarella or any other cheese you prefer
