Ingredients

Scale
  • lb chicken pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • oil spray

Instructions

  1. Put the chicken pieces into a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Toss to coat evenly then cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight for best flavor.
  2. Combine flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and oregano in a shallow dish and mix well.
  3. Remove chicken from the buttermilk letting the extra drip off and press the pieces into the seasoned flour so the coating sticks firmly.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F 195°C and spray the basket lightly with oil. Place the chicken pieces in a single layer and spray them lightly with oil as well.
  5. Air fry the chicken for 12 minutes, then flip the pieces, spray again and continue cooking for another 12 to 13 minutes until golden and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165°F 74°C.
  6. Let your chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving to keep it juicy.
