Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend

Instructions

  1. Combine softened butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. Evenly spread the garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Place two slices buttered side down on a skillet or board and distribute half the cheese on each.
  4. Cover with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up, to form sandwiches.
  5. Warm a skillet on low heat and cook the sandwiches for about 4 to 5 minutes on one side until golden.
  6. Flip the sandwiches carefully and cook the other side for an additional 4 to 5 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread is crispy.
  7. Remove from heat, cut, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use low heat to make sure the cheese melts properly without burning the bread
  • Softened butter helps spread the garlic mixture evenly
  • This sandwich pairs wonderfully with tomato soup and can be customized with your favorite cheese or additions like tomatoes or jalapenos
