1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
1 ½ cups light brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 ½ cups red white and blue M&Ms
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, cream butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in vanilla extract and eggs one at a time.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
Fold in the red white and blue M&Ms.
Spread batter evenly into a greased baking pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool completely before slicing into bars.

For extra crunch, toast some M&Ms before folding them into the batter
