  • 5 tablespoon salted butter melted

  • ⅓ cup milk
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • non stick spray
  • 1 cup pecans toasted and chopped
  • 5 tablespoons butter slightly melted
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • pinch kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 350℉ and grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish with non stick spray.
  2. Drain the canned yams thoroughly, then mash them in a large bowl using a potato masher or fork to retain some texture.
  3. Stir melted butter, eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon into the mashed yams until well mixed.
  4. Spoon the sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
  5. In a dry skillet, toast pecans until fragrant; then combine them with brown sugar, flour, salt, and melted butter in a bowl, mixing until crumbly.
