Ingredients
Scale
40 oz canned yams drained
5 tablespoon salted butter melted
2 large eggs lightly beaten
⅓ cup milk
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
non stick spray
1 cup pecans toasted and chopped
5 tablespoons butter slightly melted
⅔ cup brown sugar
½ cup all purpose flour
pinch kosher salt
Instructions
Set your oven to 350℉ and grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking dish with non stick spray.
Drain the canned yams thoroughly, then mash them in a large bowl using a potato masher or fork to retain some texture.
Stir melted butter, eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon into the mashed yams until well mixed.
Spoon the sweet potato mixture evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
In a dry skillet, toast pecans until fragrant; then combine them with brown sugar, flour, salt, and melted butter in a bowl, mixing until crumbly.
Sprinkle the pecan crumble evenly over the sweet potato layer.
Bake uncovered at 350℉ for 45 minutes until the topping becomes bubbly and golden.
