Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts about 68 ounces each patted dry
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for searing
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened room temperature for easy mixing
  • 2 tsp honey liquid
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper freshly ground if possible
  • 1/2 tsp paprika optional for color and mild smokiness
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley for garnish fresh

Instructions

  1. Dry the chicken breasts well and season them on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if using.
  2. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it glistens but does not smoke.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet without overlapping and cook undisturbed for 5 to 6 minutes until the bottom is golden and the chicken lifts easily.
  4. Turn the chicken over and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes until the thickest part reaches 165°F on a meat thermometer.
  5. Meanwhile, stir together the softened butter and honey in a small bowl until creamy.
  6. Lower the heat and spoon the butter-honey mixture evenly over the chicken, letting it melt and coat the pieces for 1 to 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator
  • To freeze, wrap the cooked chicken tightly in foil and place in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months
